Troy Eady

Physiotherapist

A keen surfer and former rugby union player, Troy helps athletes, as well as everyday people, to overcome sporting and musculoskeletal aches and pains and deal with injuries.

He has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) Degree from the University of Sydney, a Diploma of Applied Science (Nursing) from the University of Newcastle, and belongs to Sports Medicine Australia and the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

Between 1999 and 2016, Troy, who is also a Registered Nurse, travelled the world as the Australian Surf Life Saving Team physiotherapist, visiting some of the world’s best beaches. He continues to compete in Surf Life Saving events and still loves surfing his short board –he’s even surfed the famous Jeffries Bay in South Africa.

Locally, Troy has chaired Byron Bay Surf Life Saving Club’s Junior Activities Group and continues to organise the annual Byron Board Paddle, cancelled this year because of Covid.

Nationally, he also has many credits to his name.

Troy has been the team physiotherapist for the Kelloggs Nutri-Grain Ironman and Ironwoman Series for the past 15 years and looked after National Rugby League Clubs and Central Coast Mariners A League team in 2007.

In private practice for 24 years, he consulted to companies including Qantas and Sanitarium Health Foods, to the National Aboriginal and Islander Dance Academy, and at representative level in rugby union. Troy was also the physiotherapist adviser on Surf Life Saving Australia’s National Medical Panel for 13 years.
